Do you want to get a back up of your RowShare data? We will show you how to do it with Zapier, a tool that allows you to connect RowShare with 1,000+ apps to automate tasks. Say one of your table contributors accidentally (or intentionally) deleted data from your table, with Zapier, you can access that deleted information easily. It is just a simple way to create a copy of a table, which you can later use in the form of a backup. The new table will be created with the column, names and types as defined in the referred table.

How It Works

Firstly, you need to create a copy of the table that you want to back up. For example, you want to have a backup of Table A, copy that Table A and name it Table A Backup. Then, once you have both of your tables, let’s make a Zap! With Zapier, every time anyone deletes data from your table, you can access the deleted data in the backup table.

Let’s Make A Zap

In Zapier, there are action and trigger. A trigger is when a row is added or modified in a RowShare table, and as an action, a new row will be added to another RowShare table. Have a look at this Zap and let us guide you how to do it step by step!

RowShare Trigger

  1. In “RowShare Trigger” section, choose “New or Updated Row” and click on “Continue”
  2. In “Select RowShare Account” section, connect to your RowShare account and click on “Save and Continue”
  3. In “Set up RowShare Row”, choose the table you want to back up as a trigger table
  4. Once choosing your table, click on “Continue”
  5. In “Test RowShare” section, double check and click on “Fetch and Continue”
  6. Once the test is successful, click on “Continue”
Now, let’s repeat the step for the RowShare action!

RowShare Action

  1. In “RowShare Action” section, choose “Create Row” and click on “Continue”
  2. In “Select RowShare Account” section, connect to your RowShare account and click on “Save and Continue”
  3. In “Set up RowShare Row”, choose the copy of the table you want to back up
  4. Once choosing your table, choose all columns
  5. Send a test to RowShare
  6. Click on finish
  7. Turn on your Zap
Now, you don’t need to worry about losing any data from your table!
